WEDDING VENUE
The Design Exchange *
234 Bay St - Trading Floor
Woodbridge, ON
L4L 1A5

Venue Description (Toronto Life)
Style gurus love the Design Exchange, one of the few genuine deco monuments in Toronto. From the stone frieze on the outside to the steel-and-lacquered-birch banister on the marble staircase, the place is brimming with architectural detail. Built in 1937 for the Toronto Stock Exchange, the historic site now hosts a design museum and any number of weddings, parties, fundraisers and corporate events. The key attraction is the former trading floor, which holds 550 standing. Graced with 40-foot ceilings, the glamorous streamlined space features marble wainscotting, vintage fluorescent lights—the first in Canada—and eight paintings by the Canadian master Charles Comfort. Also available for rent: the industrial-style exhibit hall; the Patty Watt Room with windows overlooking Bymark restaurant; and a boardroom with a view of King Street. They hold 300, 60 and 25 people respectively.
