Novelista Bride

One of the greatest compliments that a photographer can receive is a referral from a past client. We love the relationships that blossom between us and the bride and groom, and find it heartwarming when we have an opportunity to see former clients at the weddings of new clients. Thanks to Clare and John, who’s wedding we had the pleasure of shooting back in 2008, we were able to meet and work with Heather and Jack.

Heather and Jack were so much fun to work with. They are the sort of couple who can’t help but smile when they’re near each other, and their happiness is absolutely infectious!

Before the ceremony began we followed the wedding party to Hero Sushi on King St. East (the bride and groom’s favorite restaurant) to take photos while enjoying fresh sushi. It was delicious! The weather was a bit temperamental but they were good sports and incorporated umbrellas in the photos. If you take a close look you’ll find the restaurant name through Jack’s clear umbrella.

The bride and her beautifully dressed bridesmaids snuck away for a special pre-ceremony photo shoot where the ladies posed with colorful novels from the library. These shots have so much personality with their unique book choices. We especially loved Heather’s book of choice: a Danielle Steel romance novel – so perfect for her special day!

The bridesmaids were dressed in knee-length pastel v-neck dresses, while the bride wore an incredible La Sposa gown with ornate Oscar de la Renta heels. Christine Cho and Melissa Burman took care of the gorgeous makeup and stylish hair for the girls. They all held lovely bouquets of white roses and Heather’s bouquet had just a touch of something blue, thanks to Betty of Avenue Florist.

The ceremony and reception took place at the King Edward Hotel in Toronto. Hero Sushi made another welcomed appearance with catered fare paired with cocktails at the reception. Everyone reached for artistically designed sushi rolls filled with salmon and tiny mushrooms. Toasts were made, hugs were shared and dancing ensued. A few of the guests even graced the couple with traditional Taiwanese songs! Blossom Events’ Mary Yang did a fantastic job of planning this lovely wedding, and Stewart Cameron worked alongside us capturing video for Heather and Jack to cherish for years to come.
