Opposites Attract | Eglinton Grand and the Distillery District

Opposites are known to attract, and Nicole + Daniel are no exception. Having met in their last year of university, they were two very different individuals who each happened to be determined and ambitious. Those strong personality traits transcended all other differences and led the couple down a path that led to their wedding day.

Nicole spent the wee hours before her wedding getting ready at Civello salon and spa with her bridesmaids, who have all been friends since pre-school and elementary school. The wedding day was spectacular with picture perfect weather as Nicole + Daniel exchanged vows in their neighborhood church. Daniel’s mother arranged for the Danforth Church Choir to provide heavenly, beautiful music for the ceremony. Everyone was touched by how personal all of the elements were.

The bride wore a remarkable trumpet-style gown with a vintage-style birdcage veil, along with awe-inspiring jewelry (including a very blingy cuff!) which matched her shoes. Her bridesmaids wore black satin dresses, in stark contrast to the bride’s gown, with large ruffled v-necklines and deep red toned bouquets.

As you may remember from their engagement shoot last year, Daniel is a talented musician. While Nicole doesn’t play music herself, she certainly loves to listen to Daniel’s tunes. Photos of their sweet engagement shoot acted as personal décor throughout the wedding. It was a wonderful touch that paid homage to their journey to the altar.

The reception took place at The Eglinton Grand old cinema in Toronto. While all of the elements of the wedding ceremony boasted a classic aesthetic, once inside the old cinema everything effortlessly shifted to a vintage theatre vibe. Nicole’s birdcage headpiece made her look like a starlet and Daniel’s dapper suit left everyone staring at the bride’s leading man.

Nicole’s aunt and uncle serenaded them with piano and song before Randy Woolman of Impact Entertainment took over the entertainment for the evening. Dancing amongst the beautiful floral arrangements from Betty Binon of Avenue Flower, Nicole + Daniel looked as though they had danced straight out of a movie!
