The Sweetest of Days | Gardiner Museum, Toronto Wedding Photography

Playing matchmaker may sound fun to some, but for others it can be a very stressful role. When Chris laid eyes on Michelle, who lived on the same floor while they were at university, he relied on his good friend to give him her phone number! His poor friend was hesitant, but he finally took a chance and became this couple’s Cupid. It’s a good thing, too, because Michelle + Chris have been together for 9 wonderful years!

Michelle + Chris are very sweet and down to earth. After university, Michelle went on to become the director of events for the Hudson Bay Company which granted her the invaluable experience that she needed to plan the wedding of her dreams. She designed each and every aspect herself, making the day all the more personal and special. She went with a mix of contemporary and elegance, yet the vibe was cozy and relaxed. We were very impressed!

I can tell you, a bride’s worst nightmare is hearing that the weather is going to rain on her parade. All of the hard work that she put into the special details is dampened, as is her spirit. This was almost the case on Michelle’s wedding day as it was set to rain all day long. Incredibly, though, the weather was kind enough to hold off until after the ceremony – crisis averted!

Michelle looked amazing in her beautifully detailed Alvina Valenta gown and blush pink Prada shoes. The bouquet was so interesting and very stunning with its fresh snow berries, roses, white dahlias and romantic blush feathers. Her bridesmaids wore strapless knee-length BCBG dresses and carried bouquets of soft pink roses with black feathers.

We took a lot of fun photos outside the Royal Ontario Museum, including group shots and some wonderful shots of Michelle + Chris. We also went to the Gardiner Museum for a few more photos.

The reception was held at the lovely Gardiner Museum where Michelle decorated the long dinner tables with incredible flowers by Stemz. The tables were also adorned with softly lit candles and mirrors. The guests had such a wonderful time, as you can see from their smiles and laughs in the photos. The DJ from Bello Sound kept them dancing all night long. Once again it was wonderful working with Belle Fleur Events:)

They feasted on wine and sweet treats by Cake Opera Co.  I have to confess that the dessert display was one of the most impressive that I’ve seen to date. The wedding cake was classic and perfect in every way, but it was the mini cupcakes, macarons and lemon squares that kept catching my eye!

I had such a great time shooting this wedding. Thank you, Michelle + Chris, for sharing your day with Boston Avenue!
