As a wedding photographer, I have the rare privilege of seeing people at the happiest time of their lives. Witnessing the eager anticipation in the couple’s eyes before their special day, and then watching their love stories unfold is truly one of the greatest joys. One thing that never ceases to amaze me, though, is how, even when things do not go entirely according to plan, the bride and groom always seem to look on the positive side. And this couldn’t have been truer than for these two exquisite individuals, who wed, amidst a small downpour, at the beautiful Graydon Hall Manor.
So positive were the couple about the rain that the bride actually described it as her favourite moment of the day. Just before the ceremony, I was outside shooting the ‘first look’ photos when the heavens opened up. As opposed to being horrified, the couple just looked at each other lovingly, and exclaimed that, despite the fact that rain had been their worst nightmare for the day, they were just so deliriously happy to be together, that the weather seemed an indiscriminate detail in the background. And indiscriminate it was indeed – the ceremony and reception were absolutely to die for, and an incredible day was truly had by all.
