As a seasoned wedding photographer, I like to think that I’m familiar with most engagement shoot locations that my clients request. And not only am I familiar with most locations, I can often envision exactly where to capture some of the best shots in and around any particular location. This was certainly true when I had the pleasure of photographing Jessica and Alex’s engagement, what I could never have imagined was just how diverse and exquisite the shots would end up being.
The engagement shoot was held at St. Lawrence Farmer’s Market, in downtown Toronto. We started the day by snapping a few photos inside the market, which was fantastic – the bright colours of the produce and signage provided the perfect contrast to the beautiful couple. We then ventured outside for a few more shots around the market, which, for me, is where the magic really happened. I’d been to the market many times, yet I genuinely had no idea how stunning the area surrounding it was. The diversity of shots we managed to capture was incredible – from the couple holding hands in front of the beautiful ornate iron gates of the sculpture garden, to cosy intimate portraits against a canary yellow rendered wall, we chanced upon.
